The Rio Rancho Police Department is available to assist residents (those who reside within city limits) to start a Neighborhood Watch Program.
The program is designed to educate citizens on being the eyes and ears for law enforcement and to work as a small community within your respective neighborhood.
Interested in getting a group started:
• Speak to the neighbors in your area to discuss interest and plan a Neighborhood Watch “Start-Up” meeting.
• Once you have gathered a Block Captain and the members, Contact the Community Relations Officer (CRO) by email at pdcommunity@rrnm.gov or call 505-896-8201 to schedule a meeting.
Once the meeting has been scheduled, the CRO will collect the list of members.
Costs
There are no required costs to start a neighborhood watch group.
Once a group is established, the CRO will work with other City staff to install and maintain street Neighborhood Watch signage as long as the group stays active. The signs are subject to removal if a group becomes inactive.
