Outdoor Rebates

The Outdoor Rebates Program assists citizens who are interested in conserving water by replacing old sprinkler heads with High Efficiency Rotating Sprinkler Nozzles, replacing old irrigation timers with Smart Controllers, and even xeriscaping. 

Outdoor Rebates Available:

  • High Efficiency Rotating Sprinkler Nozzles- qualifying high efficiency rotating nozzles will receive a water bill credit of $2.00 each. Click here to see the list of qualifying products.
  • Smart Irrigation Controllers- replace an old irrigation timer with an EPA WaterSense smart controller. Qualifying products will receive a water bill credit of up to $300. Look for qualifying smart controller products at https://lookforwatersense.epa.gov/products/.
  • Xeriscaping- PRE-APPROVAL IS REQUIRED! You must contact the Water Conservation Office at 505-896-8715 or 505-896-8737 BEFORE you begin your project. Approved rebates will receive a water bill credit of $1.00 per square foot of real grass turf removed. 

 

To Apply for High Efficiency Rotating Sprinkler Nozzles or WaterSense Smart Controllers:

  1. Read the Terms and Conditions. If you feel you qualify, fill out the application.  Outdoor Rebate application w/ Terms and Conditions
  2. Email or mail the completed application along with a copy of your itemized receipt to:

  1. The completed application form and itemized receipt must be received within 90 calendar days from the purchase date.
  2. Incomplete applications will not be processed.
  3. Please allow up to 90 business days for your completed application to be reviewed and processed and for your credit to reflect on your water bill.

To Apply for the Xeriscaping Rebate:

  1. Call 505-896-8715 or 505-896-8737 BEFORE beginning your project. Pre-approval is required and at least 250 square feet of real grass turf must still be in place during the pre-approval process.  
  2. Pre-existing low water use landscapes are not eligible.
