Free Landfill Days

The Rio Rancho Landfill offers Rio Rancho residents free landfill disposal, once per month, during normal operating hours: 7am to 5pm Monday-Friday; 7:30am to 12pm (noon) on Saturdays. Rio Rancho residents can dispose up to 1,000 lbs. at no charge. Loads over 1,000 lbs. will be charged a normal gate rate for the additional weight. Commercial waste will not be accepted.

Special ID Required: Both a valid driver’s license and either a current Rio Rancho WM bill dated within the last 60 days or receipt of payment for current WM bill are required.

Glass Recycling Drop-Off at WM Landfill
 The Rio Rancho Waste Management Landfill now offers a free drop-off site for glass bottles during normal business hours. DO NOT put glass in your recycling cart. Glass may be dropped off at 1132 Carpenter St NE, Monday through Friday 7:00AM - 5:00PM, and Saturdays 7:30AM - 12:00PM.

Do you have old electronics, paint, motor oil, pool chemicals, batteries or other household hazardous waste taking
up space? Now it’s easy and convenient to get them out of the way with At Your Door Special Collection® Service.

It’s as easy at 1-2-3:

1. Call 1-800-449-7587 (Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.)
or visit wmatyourdoor.com to find out the many items that can be
collected and schedule your pickup.
2. We’ll send you a collection kit with instructions on how to label and
where to place your items.
3. Gather your items and place them on your front door area or
outside the garage before 7 a.m. on your pickup day. You don’t
even need to be home!
