This page contains information on lane restrictions that may be present during road construction in the City of Rio Rancho. Information will be updated on this page as it becomes available. Motorists traveling within construction zones are urged to drive with caution and observe traffic control devices. Remember to always wear your seat belt and drive the speed limit.

19th Street SE:
City crews will be adding millings to 19th Street SE between Vargas Road to Westside Boulevard to make 19th Street a low water crossing. Citizens will be detoured via Southern Boulevard and 15th Street SE. Work will begin August 28, 2019 - September 7, 2019.
Neighborhood Streets Improvement Project:
Work for the Neighborhood Streets Improvement Project will be typically from 7:00 a.m - 5:00 p.m., Monday-Friday, and weekends and evening hours as needed. Please click on the project title for estimate starting dates for crack patching and crack sealing on specific roads.
Southern Boulevard Phase 1 Project:
Work for the Southern Boulevard Phase 1 Project from NM 528 to Golf Course Road will be from September 24, 2018 - September 24, 2019. During construction the speed limit will be reduced to 30 mph.
Effective December 3, 2018: The existing traffic signal at 3900 Southern Boulevard will be turned off. This means that traffic traveling on Southern Boulevard at that intersection will be a free flow. Traffic entering Southern Boulevard at that intersection will have a STOP condition.
Effective May 15, 2019: Traffic has transitioned from the south side to the north side of the newly constructed Southern Boulevard between NM 528 and Golf Course Road. The roadway lane configuration remains similar with one lane in each direction (east and west) and a left turn lane. Please pay attention to traffic control devices and signing to maneuver through the configuration.
Notification: Trevino Drive will be closed at Southern Blvd from 8/12/2019 through 8/13/2019. Please follow detour signs.
