Dog Friendly Parks
The City of Rio Rancho has 21 dog friendly parks. These parks are designated for people to bring their dog(s) to the park on a leash.
There are designated plastic bag dispensers at every dog friendly park. Pet owners will need to place the waste into waste containers.
The City of Rio Rancho is requesting for members of the community to please assist in stocking the plastic bag dispensers by replenishing the dispensers with used plastic grocery store bags. Dog Friendly Park Rules
ALL dogs must be on a leash at all times.
No Wading pools.
Owners must clean up and properly dispose of waste left by their dog(s).
ALL animals must be licensed if living in City limits with tags displayed on a collar.

Dog Parks
The City of Rio Rancho has 12 designated Dog Parks throughout Rio Rancho. The Dog Parks are designed for dog(s) to exercise and play off-leash in a supervised environment.
The City of Rio Rancho has provided a pet waste station at every Dog Park. It is the pet owner's responsibility to properly dispose of any waste in the provided waste containers.
Dog Park Rules
Each owner and/or person having charge, custody, or control of their dog(s) are legally and financially responsible for the actions of each dog under their charge, custody, or control at all times.
Anyone under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult at all times when inside the off-leash dog park area. It is strongly recommended that parents refrain from bringing infants or small children into the off-leash dog park area.
At no time should children be left unattended and/or allowed to run with or chase after dogs.
Dogs must be neutered/spayed in order to enter the off-leash dog park area.
Food is not allowed within the off-leash dog park area.
Dog owners and/or person having charge, custody, or control of their dog(s) must remain with their dog(s) and keep their dog(s) in view at all times.
No dog(s) may be left unattended.
Dogs exhibiting aggressive behavior must be leashed and removed from the off-leash dog park immediately.
Owners or person having charge, custody, or control of their dog(s) must clean up and properly dispose of their dog’s waste.
All dogs must have up-to-date vaccinations prior to entering the off-leash dog park.
Dogs must have current rabies and applicable license tags clipped to their collars at all times.
Dogs and/or puppies using the off-leash dog park must be at least six months old and must be up to date on all core vaccines including rabies, parvo/distemper, and bordetella.
Limit of three dogs per person per visit.
Dogs must be on leash prior to exiting the dog park.
Dog park hours: 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily.
