The Rio Rancho Local History Collection
The Rio Rancho Local History Collection has developed over several years and continues to grow with donations of books, posters, flyers, and memorabilia from generous community members like you. The collection contains items dating back to 1962, and is housed in the Local History Room located near the adult information desk in the southeast corner of the Loma Colorado Main Library. You may also access a handout on the history of Rio Rancho.

Exhibits including photographs, maps, posters, and other items are on display in the Local History Room.

Oral Histories

The library conducts interviews with individuals who have Rio Rancho stories to share. The oral histories are available in the Local History Room.

Books & Collections

Books, manuscripts, videotapes, posters, flyers, and other materials in the Local History Room cover topics such as Rio Rancho history, current and past demographics, and other local statistics.
